New pond area

pond/wetland area

Members are currently trying to improve a small pond area that was established several years ago, but had become overgrown and unmanaged.

The area intercepts water running down the field that tends to run through the garden, but much is now diverted round the garden via a ditch.

The pond will only be a small feature and will dry up during the summer months, but while containing water will add an additional habitat type to the area and hopefully be colonised by small amphibians (newts, toads, frogs etc) as well as being useful for marginal plants.

If you would like to contribute, or have some ideas on what we can do, come and join us for one of our sessions.

Alternatively, contact Amy, our Student Representative - see our committee page.
